The Blessing Bag Project is the first part of The Dollhouse Foundation’s aim to feed, strengthen, and revive our communities. Food insecurity is a huge problem in our community, as about 1 out of 6 people in America struggle with hunger, including 29.1 million adults and 13.1 million children. These numbers do not even include our brothers and sisters who are homeless, who often go days without eating anything. The Dollhouse Foundation, Inc. wants to do something about this! Our founder started this project for the holidays in December 2016 with about 10 bags, and since then, the number has nearly quadrupled thanks to your donations! Currently, we are distributing blessing bags to the homeless populations in Orlando and Atlanta, to show them that they are loved and cared for. One bag typically includes a sandwich, a bottled water, a bag of chips, granola, a piece of fruit, napkins and utensils, hand sanitizer, and a pair of socks to keep their feet warm in the winter months.
